The Deer Lake by Zaremba & Company Another example of Zaremba & Company's prowess in site design and landscaping is the Deer Lake located in the heart of Oakland County. This new outdoor oasis created on a scenic lakefront property serving communities from Auburn Hills to Wixom was designed to be a calming spot to unwind as much as it is a space to host friends and family. After a complete assessment of the site was done to review how to best accommodate the site conditions of the slope and erosion control was provided as a part of the . We handled seamless integration of natural stone retaining walls using local granite to reinforce the visual appeal as well as structural integrity of the landscape, furniture and also property. These walls seem to be more than a support; they are bold terraces that call upon us to wander through the habitat. Along with the hardscaping features, our landscape architects created a generous planting scheme that respects the local plant ecology. To maintain minimum upkeep and beauty throughout the seasons, we tried to choose drought-tolerant plants: ornamental grasses, shrubs, and perennials. The selected plants are good for both looks and local wildlife, coming together to support a community of bees, butterflies, and birds around Deer Lake. To enable the homeowners to hold parties or cozy nights by the lake, a custom fire pit area was built over the existing concrete platform with stylish seating and decorative lighting. The also involved a winding stone path that allows guests to wander through the varied plantings, finishing with a view of Deer Lake just across of Deer Lake through garden plantings. During the course of the the team also focused on sustainable practices, using permeable pavers to manage stormwater runoff and maximize the natural hydrology settings of the site. Resilience and dedication of our skilled team worked despite heavy rains and poor accessibility of the location and we came up with innovative solutions and the final product delivered was way beyond our client expectations. The Deer Lake is more than just any landscaping - it is a marriage of nature and design, an expression of the beauty of its environment and a functional outdoor living space. Now the client has a beautiful space to gather the family or escape for quiet time down by the water, a true expression of Zaremba & Company artistry and landscaping skill.
