Pool in the Wood “Iris Design Associates” is pleased to present “Pool in the Wood,” an impressive landscaping that elegantly blurs the lines between luxury and nature. Located in Virginia’s stunning countryside, Pool in the Wood is a custom outdoor oasis designed to enhance the already stunning natural environment, while providing a peaceful retreat for the homeowners. The included a custom swimming pool surrounded by abundant lush greenery with a focus on natural stone and elegant tile work to achieve a cohesive, elegant look. A spacious deck, built with ethically sourced hardwood, was added to the pool, increasing the footprint for relaxing and entertaining. Plant materials were drawn from the native plant palette. As seen in the , native plants not only provide beauty to the landscape, but they also support local wildlife habitats providing another dimension to landscapes. One of the key challenges of the was to manage the slope of the property and the wooded area that was originally present on site. Our team of professionals landscape contractors expertly graded the area for proper drainage and healthy tree habits. The existing trees were preserved. A beautiful natural stone retaining wall was installed to procure a solution to this challenge while giving the pool area incredible aesthetic appeal. Finally, we used ambient lighting in the landscape design to enhance gathering spaces for evening gatherings. As we leave the Pool in the Woods , we can see how this impressive outdoor space beautifully integrates all the elements of function and nature to create an inviting experience for the homeowners.
