Swimming Pool Landscape Designs by Iris Design Associates Iris Design Associates has recently completed the landscaping for a beautiful swimming pool for clients in Bealeton, Brandy Station, and surrounding areas. The goal was to turn the client's yard into an upscale oasis that complements its natural setting while creating an imaginative space designed for enjoyment. The incorporated an eclectic combination of lush greenery, brightly colored seasonal flowering plants, and hardscaping to meld seamlessly with the area surrounding the pool. We used high-quality materials, including natural stone pavers for the pool deck, durable composite decking, and wrought iron fencing to enhance its charm while providing physical permanence and low upkeep. Due to the sloping land of the property, one of the first challenges we faced was terrain. To meet the elevation of the slope, our landscape team engineered tiered planting beds incorporating retaining walls throughout the area that also improved the aesthetics. From there, we incorporated a variety of native plants that have a track record of thriving in the local climate. These plants provide year-round interest and are known to attract wildlife that supports ecological benefits. The design strategy considered water sustainability, so drought-tolerant varieties of shrubs and flowering plants, were used wherever possible to limit water consumption. The result was absolutely stunning, and the professional appearance craftily captured the client's taste and aesthetic. The addition of lighting features, water features, and seating areas completed the design and created a stunning area for evening entertainment and barbecuing during hot summer evenings. The landscape architecture improved usability of the pool's surrounding landscape while creating an escape retreat right from the client's backyard...perhaps an at-home luxury resort.
