This innovative piece of landscaping turned a steeply sloped urban lot into a visually stunning outdoor space that demonstrated our ability to cultivate a resting place among a busy city landscape. Our team began the with a comprehensive examination of the site, assessing the unique terrain that offered opportunities with its sloped surface, while also presenting challenges in the form of erosion and limited access for materials. To solve these issues, we devised some terraced garden beds, made from locally sourced stone retaining walls that ultimately stabilized the slope but also provided rustic charm to the overall design. The terraced design allowed for improved drainage that ultimately resulted in a landscape that is lush year-round. The new garden consists of an attractive amalgamation of native and drought tolerant plants, and brightly blooming perennials that maximize on the aesthetics of natural plants and promote the biodiversity of the area. A lovely pathway made from reclaimed wood carries people through the garden to a comfortable sitting space that takes in sweeping views of the San Francisco skyline. This design promotes outdoor living and creates an inviting place to access nature. To round out the , our clients were concerned with sustainability; therefore, we incorporated a rain water harvesting system into the garden, which provides efficient irrigation with reduced water usage. Further, the system is environmentally-friendly and reflects our company and our clients' values.
