About This Project

Vista al Mar by LandStudio Overlooking the beautiful coast, Vista al Mar represents a highpoint of landscape architecture from LandStudio, serving the wonderful communities of South Florida including Coconut Grove, Coral Gables, and Miami Beach. This turned an expansive beach property into a calm respite that seamlessly blends nature with luxury. Central to the Vista al Mar is an intentional layout that incorporates native coastal plants, drought-tolerant gardens, and elegant hardscape for both design and sustainability. We used premium materials, including locally harvested coral stone pathways and the best aged teak wood for custom decks, both of which will last and further integrate the into the surrounding environment. One of the key design challenges was the unique topography of the site and how to address drainage. Our team designed a series of swales and permeable pavers to avoid erosion while holding water, which created habitats for wildlife in the area to thrive. In the end, the landscape is breathtaking to behold with clear views of the ocean, giving way to private and communal places for lounging or entertaining. The pool completes the experience and is a contrasting element awash in tropical foiliage. Our client was overwhelmed with the results, commenting on the , but most importantly, how the indoor and outdoor spaces harmoniously blend.
