About This Project

Finley by Seedlings Landscape Design Build Located in the West Lake Hills neighborhood of Austin, Texas, the 'Finley' landscape is a standout of art and craftsmanship by Seedlings Landscape Design Build. Seedlings serves the growing areas of Austin, Barton Creek, Bear Creek, Bee Cave, Lost Creek, Manchaca, Rollingwood, Sunset Valley, and West Lake Hills. The Finley exemplifies our commitment to excellence and sustainability through a dramatic landscape transformation. The Finley was originally based on a vision to create an outdoor space that supported their natural site and topography. The space presented a number of challenges, especially the slop of the site. We created terraced garden beds that provided both visual interest and additional soil retention in the landscape. Native plantings of Texas sage and ornamental grasses maintain the local climate while supporting a diverse ecosystem. Quality materials were also essential; we utilized locally collected stone for the pathways and retaining walls to create a timeless expression. These components worked together to create cohesion between the indoor and outdoor space and will withstand the elements. The centerpiece of the garden is a beautiful water feature that includes a cascade waterfall and a pond. The water feature serves as a backdrop to peaceful sounds while inviting local wildlife to the site. At completion, we designed an outdoor living area comprised of custom seating and fire pit where the family enjoys gathering and entertaining. Light fixtures were designed around key features to engage the space in the evening or early morning hours. To conclude, the Finley is a gorgeous landscape with contemporary landscape elements that builds on our unique vision. The balanced relationship between furnishing the space while maintaining aesthetic beauty transformed the outdoor space into a sanctuary. Quality craftsmanship and attention to detail are evident at every angle of the landscape . Finley is not just a garden, it is a reflection of a Texas Hill Country sanctuary and spirit.
