Frederick - A Seedlings Landscape Design Build Success Located in West Lake Hills, the 'Frederick' showcases the design and craftsmanship of Seedlings Landscape Design Build. The communities of Austin, Barton Creek, Bear Creek, Bee Cave, Lost Creek, Manchaca, Rollingwood, and Sunset Valley are all within our service area. We transformed a simple backyard into a beautiful outdoor experience. This began with a site analysis, in which we encountered several problems, including an uneven site and limited sun exposure. To address these issues, we designed a tiered garden, which not only improved ambiance but also drainage and accessibility. Moreover, the durable materials that we used are sourced locally, including native stone for retaining walls and ethically harvested timber for the raised planting beds, and helped us achieve plant growth while considering sustainability. The Frederick 's water feature is the most astonishing attribute of the , which features a waterfall with a serene sound that connects to its surroundings. The feature utilized natural boulders and has a myriad of aquatic plants that nurture wildlife and contribute to the overall ecosystem. We also installed a multi-layered series of native plants surrounding the water feature that provide color in all four seasons and attract pollinators. Limited light exposure was initially a concern, so our horticultural experts researched and curated plant material selections that thrive in the shade. Finally, we used outdoor lighting in select areas as the design desired, which not only adds nighttime ambiance, but allows for extended use of the space as well. In the end, the was successful in both design and function and included seating designed for lounging, community and nature connection. The 'Frederick' was a joy to work on and the hard work ensured that the client has an amazing backyard oasis to enjoy, exemplifying the high level of quality and dedication Seedlings Landscape Design Build stands for.
