Connecticut Country House - Wesley Stout Associates The Connecticut Country House , situated within the beautiful landscape of Connecticut, embodies the artistry and expertise of Wesley Stout Associates and is a full-scale landscaping that transformed a traditional estate into an extraordinary outdoor space, improving its beauty and function. Among the many aspects of the was the installation of large stone terraces of local bluestone, designed to flow with the land’s natural contours. The terraces provide ample room for entertainment, including custom-made seating and fire pits for gathering. Perennial Native plants were incorporated throughout the , including a series of walkways to provide a colorful and textured landscape year-round, and create habitat for local biodiversity. One of the significant challenges during the was the elevation change across the site. We developed a series of tiered gardens that not only handled the drainage effectively, but also created a dynamic experience for the homeowner with beautiful layers of greenery. Retaining walls were created from natural granite boulders, which provided stability, but also rustic charm to the design. In the end we created a perfect balance of refined elegance and natural beauty that thrilled the homeowner. The Connecticut Country House now has an inviting landscape that creates a sense of place - borrowing from the adjacent environment. And, the lighting design was carefully envisioned to illuminate the property’s walkways and architectural features at night. Wesley Stout Associates is exceptionally pleased with the final result, a landscape that enriches the lifestyle of the homeowners and reflects the stunning character of Connecticut.
