Contemporary Repose by Wesley Stout Associates Situated along the striking landscape of Greenwich, the 'Contemporary Repose' showcases the talent and services provided by Wesley Stout Associates. This multi-faceted reimagined a traditional backyard into a place of tranquility and repose that integrates modern-day aesthetics, and takes cues from the natural environment. The benefited from careful planning to give consideration to various lush types of greenery and unique hardscaping. The design incorporates well-sourced materials, such as locally sourced bluestone and responsibly harvested wood. The design creates seamless transitions between the patio and the gardens. Pathways decorated with native plantings take visitors on a journey through various parts of the property, connecting them to the outdoors, while providing comfortable places for repose. An ever-present consideration during the was the sloped nature of the property, which would present usability or drainage issues. The team successfully mitigated these issues by implementing a tiered garden plan that mitigated any drainage concerns and created additional planting opportunities, including different planting layers. The end result can be experienced through continuous colors and experiences throughout the various seasons. Central to 'Contemporary Repose' is the impressive water feature that becomes both a focal point and a place that creates calm and reflection. The tranquil pond is framed by ornamental grasses and perennials that creates a backdrop of pleasantness for personal repose and imagining. The lighting enhances the landscape at night, allowing the joy of the garden to extend beyond sunset. In the end, the space became a successful balance of modern aesthetics and usable outdoor space that delighted with relaxation. Once again, Wesley Stout Associates delivered the quality, ingenuity, and client satisfaction that engages the homeowners and delights all parties, across Cos Cob, Darien, and beyond.
