Country Retreat by Wesley Stout Associates Wesley Stout Associates, located in the stunning surroundings of Connecticut, has also dedicated itself to excellence in landscaping with 'Country Retreat'. Whether working in Cos Cob or Hamptons, our office has transformed this sprawling property into a balance of nature and sophistication. The incorporated a thoughtfully crafted outdoor living space, with seasonal native plant gardens that also support local biodiversity. Curved, natural stone paths, all sourced from local bluestone, wandered through native plantings to create interest and variety in a fuzzy area for retreating. A three-tiered water feature became the centerpiece of the , providing calming white noise and soothing ambiance. Boulders were hand-picked from the property and arranged on the sloped ground to help enhance the natural topography of the site. The site's elevation was one of the most significant challenges we faced during the planning and design phases. Many decisions went into grading that would serve to drain water from heavy sustained weather but also not cause erosion or damage to other plantings. Implementing additional elements of landscaping allowed to integrate both aesthetic and practical application successfully. Furthermore, an environmentally sustainable automatic irrigation system helped support the sustainability of the landscape and ensured the success of every plant. Our hard work was rewarded with an undeniably beautiful retreat that far exceeded our client's hopes for the landscape. The outdoor spaces have become inviting areas to entertain family and friends, dine outdoors, and enjoy quiet time for reflection.
