Creighton Farms by Magee Design Located in the beautiful countryside of Aldie, Virginia, the Creighton Farms is a wonderful example of the skill and craftsmanship of Magee Design. The large residential estate required a complete landscaping renovation that blended the beauty of nature with contemporary outdoor living. This began with a careful consideration of the site's topography and existing vegetation. Magee Design identified two obstacles: the site was uneven, and each outdoor living space was disjointed. Our staff faced these challenges by creating a tiered landscape that provided visual interest and added functionality. Some of the design features of the Creighton Farms landscape include a beautiful assortment of native plantings selected for their durability and success in the current climate. Material choice was also a priority; we used natural stone walkways, sourced nearby, because of the rustic feel they provided the estate. Large granite boulders were utilized as focal pieces, along with handmade wooden pergolas that are intended for social gatherings in outdoor living spaces. Koi ponds and small waterfalls were included as water features to provide an element of peace while attracting wildlife for an enriched natural habitat. The design in night lighting allows for the beauty of a soothing koi pond to be appreciated at night, adding almost a magical element to the landscape. With detailed planning and execution, Magee Design was able to overcome several logistical challenges that were associated with delivering a of this size while being as minimally intrusive as possible to the site. The final product was a stunning outdoor oasis that combined the luxurious aspect of working with Magee Design while maintaining a natural aesthetic satisfying the clients' needs for Creighton Farms. Overall, the Creighton Farms was an excellent example of Magee Design’s collective skill, commitment to quality and innovation in offering the client the true experience of beautiful outdoor living.
