Family Fun Completed by: Paul Hendershot Design, Inc. In the center of a great community, the ‘Family Fun’ completed by Paul Hendershot Design, Inc. created an active outdoor environment from a typical backyard, specifically designed for a family to enjoy and relax. This is located in the beautiful Ojai area and reflects our dedication to building with quality and creativity for clients throughout Ventura County and beyond. The design integrates a multi-functional area with a custom pergola, which allowed for shade and comfort for family gatherings. We used high-quality cedar for the structure to ensure durability while retaining a natural look. Under the pergola, we placed a large wooden deck made from sustainably produced materials, blending style and environmental responsibility. The most exciting part of the ‘Family Fun’ landscaping is the kid’s play area. Soft, environmentally friendly turf makes a safe, inviting area for the children to play. Rocks and native plants were carefully arranged in a way that produced an engaging natural place for children to explore. Along with the play area, we designed a garden for the family to plant and watch grow together. The goal of the garden component was to create a space where children are engaged with nature, applications, and sustainability. There were challenges throughout the entire including uneven ground and drainage of seasonal rains. To make sure the drainage was efficient and remain true to quality landscaping in time, we had an advanced grading plan and installed a complete drainage system to last while enhancing the site. This effort created a family-friendly, practical, and beautiful yard that gives the family a peaceful home while getting outside to be active. The family clients expressed happiness with the and how the design not only makes a comfortable outdoor space but also gives the family a place to laugh and grow together outside. Paul Hendershot Design, Inc. created the ‘Family Fun’ as a reflection again of the company’s commitment to quality craftsmanship and beneficial landscape design throughout Southern California.
