About This Project

Simple Petit Chateau Designed by Paul Hendershot Design, Inc., the completed 'Simple Petit Chateau' is a fantastic example of how landscape design can create a retreat that feels uniquely your own. Set in the beautiful Ojai landscape, the end result is an incredible mix of elegance and usable designa true reflection of our quality craftsmanship and design work in consultation with the client. The includes a gorgeous mix of lush native plantings, well-placed stone pathways, and limited hardscape elements that play off the rustic feel of the chateau. The drought resistant plantings we hand-selected throughout the gardens, like lavender and native grasses, helped save water while adding color throughout the seasons. The integration of the use of local products, such as natural stone and reclaimed wood, aid in the connection to the environment and support the local economy. Unique to this installation was the work to contend with the unevenness of the property. Our landscape professionals leveled the area and introduced the terracing, elevating the look of the space while maintaining the beauty of the landscape coupled with the chateau. In addition, we installed a custom irrigation system to effectively water the plants while still conserving watera reflection of our commitment to local conservation. In the end, the delight in the result of the outdoor space made the client very happybecause they have a functional space for entertainment or relaxation. Each seat, each relaxing water element was thoughtfully designed and built, creating a unique yet timeless feel to the landscape. As with all of our s, the 'Simple Petit Chateau' is a fine representation of the work of Paul Hendershot Design, inc., and a fine addition to the community in Ojai.
