Atherton Retreat Located in the heart of Atherton, the Atherton Retreat completed by The Garden Route Company is a testament to our ability to transform outdoor spaces into peaceful escapes. This involved a complete landscape restoration that utilized a warm palette of local materials, including stone-paved walkways, wooden pergolas, and local wildlife-friendly vegetation that establishes and celebrates the character of the site. One of the biggest challenges was the varied topography of the site and we successfully addressed that challenge with tiered garden beds that enhance drainage and soil health while visually enlivening the garden. Our crew of skilled professionals utilized permeable pavers that addressed issues of water sustainability and flow from inside to outside and vice versa. The retreat features a beautiful water feature, a custom-built pond surrounded by dense vegetation, which creates a habitat for native wildlife and adds a sense of tranquility to the space. The addition of seating areas and outdoor illumination strategically placed allows you to sit back, relax, and enjoy the beauty of the landscape and architecture by day and night. The end result is an oasis that not only meets the vision and intent of our clients but is also an incredibly functional, useful, and beautiful garden.
