LA Garden: Paul Hendershot Design, Inc. Located in the heart of Los Angeles County, Paul Hendershot Design, Inc. has developed a truly beautiful outdoor space as part of the LA Garden . The design appropriately intertwines contemporary principles with the natural, eclectic beauty of California's landscape. The garden features a unique blend of native plant material, drought tolerant and xeric plantings, and lush green spaces to create an inviting ecosystem. A water feature was one of the design elements used to enhance the garden's overall presentation; the cascading and flowing water echoed relaxation, like it was a part of the natural environment. Natural stone was used for the pathways; a durable flooring solution that also looks very attractive. The elevated garden beds were constructed using reclaimed wood and located throughout the garden, both providing functional solutions that give the area a handcrafted quality of place, allowing for proximity to the herbs and vegetables grown by the homeowners but visually promoting a natural aesthetic. The LA Garden is also a site that showcases significant topographical variation which required careful, intentional planning to address the various surfaces and creative accessibility and drainage solutions; such as terracing and respectfully-situated boulders that not only enhance the landscape and its design; but solidify its infrastructure. As result, the clients realize a garden that reflects their vision and more. The LA Garden is a hybrid of retreat and entertainment that will reward the homeowner with color and excitement year-round that simultaneously enhances biodiversity. As the garden's beauty and functionality suspect were demonstrated to the homeowners and visitors, it is apparent the possibility of thoughtful designs and quality implementation resulted in a stunning outcome.
