Specs: Roper Mountain Pool and Terraced Yard Earth Design, Inc. is excited to showcase a new landscape for the Roper Mountain Pool and Terraced Yard that boasts new life into the Greenville County area including Greenwood at Five Forks and Simpsonville. With a deft hand, this balances the natural site with layered outdoor spaces of livable luxury. The terraced yard is multi-leveled to accommodate every opportunity the design can provide while allowing the natural topography to dictate these spaces. We incorporated locally harvested stone into the retaining walls of the to not only provide permanence to the design, but to create continuity between the built and natural landscapes. Each terrace is landscaped with biodiverse, self-sustaining, low-maintenance, local plantings. Perhaps the most significant challenge was that this property has a very steep slope and so lots of planning and engineering had to go into making sure that whatever we built here was both built well but also looked good. This is where our team took this a step further, they mitigated these problems by using unique draining systems to keep the erosion down and keep the terracing intact. It yields a beautiful and practical space that encourages family and friends to come together and be in touch with nature. The showcases a refined pool area, which is beautifully encircled by a meticulously crafted patio built with natural stone pavers offering a smooth transition from the water to the land. A touch of tropical plants and ornamental grasses complements the scenery, providing a peaceful retreat in the homeowner's back yard. Our clients were ecstatic with the end result, the Roper Mountain Pool and Terraced Yard transformed into the perfect retreat, merging form and function. Earth Design Inc.
