About This Project

Eastern Washington's Big Orange House: A Residential Retreat by Earth Design, Inc. • Get more at Earth Design, Inc. The Eastside Residential Retreat, located in Greenville, is an example of the magic that can happen when landscaping in the home. This transformed a small suburban yard into a peaceful refuge, designed and built by Earth Design, Inc. Highlights include an incredible stone-paved patio made with local flagstone the ideal meeting point for family and friends. The poorly drained site is sloped so the team worked with tiered garden beds to provide both beauty and function. The featured a varied array of native species to provide color throughout the seasons while also minimizing need for future maintenance. The design also includes a custom built fire pit in order with tastefully placed seating surrounding the area making a very inviting and welcoming set up for the evenings. For the finishing touch to the retreat atmosphere, ambient lighting was installed to cast out of the foliage and architecture and softly to illuminate them for a magical evening glow. Earth Design, Inc. emphasized sustainability in the and incorporated sustainable materials alongside a rainwater collection system for irrigation. The final outcome is a practical but beautiful space for the client to relax in, with a design that befits their way of living. The Eastside Residential Retreat adds not just curb appeal, but value to the property and the clients are thrilled with their new outdoor oasis. Earth Design, Inc. is known for their craftsmanship and inventive landscape solutions and this is no exception making it a qualified Landscape of the Year entry for Dunean and surrounding areas.
