Here, our design team created a unique multi-purpose space that includes a gorgeous, sustainable patio made of local flagstone, which is not only sturdy, but also a natural feature. We designed an outdoor kitchen with the most aesthetically pleasing yet energy-efficient appliances for parties and gatherings, and we lined it with an outdoor garden pergola that was custom built to complement the outdoor dining experience with shade and style. Recognizing the family’s passion for play, we created a delightful children’s play area with a nearby durable rubberized surface for a safe play experience, surrounded by colorful near-natured butterfly and pollinator gardens and native planting. This creates a lovely area for kids to play in but also enhances local biodiversity. For starters, the ground wasnot even in the back yard. Working with the natural terrain, we terraced the gardens and lined the walls in place for the gardens with natural stone so that there was continuity among the zones of landscape. This also provided visual interest but also good drainage which contributes to the longevity of the whole . Finally, the wraps up with a striking palette of drought-resistant plants chosen specifically for their seasonal interest and low-maintenance lifestyle. As a result, the landscape is vibrant and well-connected to the flavours of the ecosystem, creating a tranquil answer to the clutter and fast pace of modern society. The clients were delighted, having been presented with an outdoor retreat that complemented the main considerations of their lifestyle, a space that is enjoyable for the family and guests yet speaks to a sustainable lifestyle.
