Summary: Jourdan Way Designed by Harold Leidner Landscape Architects, the 'Jourdan Way' landscape reflects not only the artistry and qualities of our firm's work but also the beauty and functionality of a landscape that is successfully melding nature with design. Right in the North Dallas area, this particular illustrates what can happen when we embrace nature and carefully sculpt the landscape to meet a client's vision. At Jourdan Way, we used as much native Texan material in plants and flowers as feasible, and all the plants were chosen based on beauty and suitability to the climate for the design. Native wildflowers, grasses, and featured trees give depth and texture to the site's natural beauty. In addition, we used natural materials such as flagstone and native boulders to create outdoor spaces that encourage inviting users to experience the landscape while observing the surroundings. As with any , we had several challenges, to include figuring out the drainage on a site that could deteriorate the landscape. We came up with an imaginative and creative drainage solution that not only took into account the water flow but also worked with the design. We created a permeable paver system that width and dirt transitions into the plan without interfering with the design or disrupting the water mgmt flow. The result is a fantastic landscape that elegantly salon the functionality of the outdoors. With expansive areas of outdoor living, from a custom built fire pit to quiet seating areas, this space invites families and gatherings and social involvement with others. The installed and planed landscape will provide seasonal flavor and seasonality aspects that influence the future potential quality of 'Jourdan Way.' The end result produced a very happy client who was pleased in the increased quality of space and functionality and married the landscape into their lifestyle more seamlessly than ever before.
