The landscape worked to enhance the natural respects of the property while providing a more useful outdoor space. With a fantastic palette of native plants included as part of the design, this landscape focused on resilient plants with minimal maintenance. Colorful perennials and ornamental grasses, with a few shrubs strategically placed around the property for year-round interest, will likely result in a vibrant landscape that supports the local ecosystem. The use of natural stone pathways directs foot traffic around the property, adds rustic beauty, and fulfills requirements for durability and accessibility. Among the primary challenges of the Maplewood were the typical uneven landscape associated with the area. In this case, the Landscape Architects were able to employ terraced garden beds to provide relief and dimension, while also improving drainage and soil quality.
