Overview: Inwood 1 Harold Leidner Landscape Architects is excited to present the Inwood 1 , an exciting landscape design in North Dallas. This represents a successful union of nature and function, both for the client and for the enhanced beauty of the environment. Inwood 1 features beautiful garden beds with hand-selected native plants providing colors, forms, and textures that thrive in the local climate and encourage biodiversity through pollinator attraction. The natural stone walkways are inviting and promote movement throughout the landscape while offering views of lush shadiness and hobby flower gardens. Sustainability was a goal of the design as we included multiple water harvesting systems to provide the plants with minimal irrigation but still an emphasis on sustainability. One of the biggest challenges was a sloping site. The firm responded to the sloping site with terraced garden beds of local materials, creating a seamless transition of spaces while adding aesthetic interest combined with improving drainage in the sloped process and minimizing erosion or damage to hardscape features. The overall outcome provides an outdoor living space of beauty and function. The clients especially enjoyed the peaceful environmental cues from the tranquil pond, which serves as the visual focal point with gentle water sounds that added to the overall experience. The combination of seating elements and custom benches supported resting and gathering of family or guests to enjoy the outdoor environment as an extension of their home. The Inwood 1 showcases the craftsmanship and execution Harold Leidner Landscape Architects believes into all their work.
