Welcoming Garden with Fence, Paver Patio, and Raised Beds Submitted by: Hortus Design Sustainable Landscapes Hortus Design: Sustainable Landscapes at the heart of Silicon Valley: Inviting Garden with Fence, Paved Patio, & Raised Beds This took a small backyard and created a tranquil retreat for use during the day and in the evening. This paved patio centrepiece is also sustainable, created from permeable pavers that integrate seamlessly into the local environment. This makes it a lot beautiful that encourages rainwater collection and drainage for sustainable purposes. We then built quite a few raised garden beds out of salvaged lumber to grow fresh herbs and veggies as well as to create some verticality and texture to the area next to the patio with these elements. The garden is delineated by a finely crafted wooden fence that adds privacy and protection in addition to being aligned with the natural aspects of the design. This fence was actually built in a way to keep the welcoming feeling while feeling somewhat enclosed but not boxed in. This involved planning and working around things like uneven terrain and pre-existing overgrowth throughout the . Through creative soil management and sustainable landscaping practices, we were able to overcome these challenges while simultaneously building up soil health for the long-term sustainability of the plants. The end product is a beautiful combination of hardscape and softscape that welcomes family and friends to sit together. The client was thrilled with the end result, complimenting the quality workmanship and the overall design that aligns with their lifestyle. Not just a , it has been a very successful record of accomplishment that speaks to our commitment of delivering quality while contributing in creating sustainable landscapes to beautify a Silicon Valley & The Peninsula.
