85394 - Front & Backyard with Native Plants & Flagstone Patio Our new Silicon Valley contemporary, completed by Hortus Design Sustainable Landscapes, celebrates the transformative potential of native plant and sustainable design. This entire landscaping beautifully connects both the front and backyards to create an outdoor oasis that immerses you in nature while supporting the local biosystem. And, the use of flagstone made with stones from around the area gives the patio a rustic but more elegant feel. This highly resistant material gives panel durability and is less labour-intensive. Our experienced team tackled the undulating ground which we levelled to provide a flush finish on the patio, merging with areas of the surrounding garden. The landscape was designed with a variety of native plants to enable growth in local climate with conservative water usage thus favourable for biodiversity. Ranging from California poppies to fragrant sage, each plant was chosen based on its ecological advantages and seasonal beauty in order to create a multi-faceted display throughout the year. Sustainable landscaping was our top priority and we used organic soil amendments and efficient irrigation systems to maintain the health of the plants. The end result is a gorgeous outdoor space that is not only complementary to the home, but also a refuge for the native wildlife. The client was thrilled with the results, explaining how his yard had become a relaxing retreat that encourages relaxation and outdoor usage. This embodies the siddha of Hortus Design where quality craftsmanship, progressive ideals and improving the natural beauty of the Silicon Valley and Peninsula area become one.
