Urban Native Frontyard Garden and Metal Raised Beds in Backyard This Silicon Valley landscape transformation showcases the beauty and versatility of native flora while maximizing form and function, and was completed by Hortus Design Sustainable Landscapes. To meet the clients vision to create a sustainable outdoor space which integrates harmoniously with the surrounding ecosystem, our team provided an inspired design solution that «reinstated the missing link». We created a colourful native garden in the front that includes California poppies, lavender and sage, all attracting local pollinators and requiring little watering. Climate Appropriate The native-inspired plant palette mirrors the natural beauty of the region, providing year-round beauty and wildlife habitat. Custom metal raised beds frame the backyard beautifully. Made of high-grade corten steel with so-called weather-resistant properties, these beds bring the ümbra weather resistance, modernity, and sustainability. This soil provides the background for proper vegetable growth while allowing the client to get into the rhythm of sustainable gardening practices. The raised beds were placed in accordance with how much sun each area received and were designed to have the most efficient workflow for maintenance. As with any , there were trials, such as an uneven, clayey ground. We are pretty proud of the successful groundwork that we did:- we amended the soil and contoured it to create a good base for the new garden beds. This synergy results in a vibrant, thriving garden that adds not just colour and curb appeal to the property but also wildlife value to its local ecosystem. The end result made the client very happy, creating a space that serves as a peaceful escape that promotes calm while enjoying the great outdoors. This by Hortus Design Sustainable Landscapes marries meticulous attention to detail with sustainable practices to create a welcoming, practical space that recalls the natural beauty of the local Peninsula landscape.
