Magee Design Travertine Patio and Walls Magee Design recently completed the 'Travertine Patio and Walls' located in Northern Virginia. We transformed a backyard space into a peaceful sanctuary. Serving clients from Aldie to Upperville, we produced a beautiful outdoor space that connects elegance with outdoor managability. The had a formail travertine patio that emphasizes the natural beauty and durability of travertine stone. The colors of the travertine were warm in tone and also one of the best materials to choose because of its slip-resistance with a heavy drop in temperature. The walls, built to scale, were considered ornamental and functional borders at the same time. Not only the beauty but it also gave the landscape integrity and supported the plantings. One of the first hurdles was how we handled the slope of the land and drainage solutions to ensure stability and drainage on the slope of the existing land. Magee Design utilized varied wall construction and grading on the patio site to form the existing function into a level with the existing grade. This level also opened up the patio and adjoining garden areas in a way that reduced water traveling downhill, but also the possibilities of erosion down the hill. The warmth of the patio and walls were accented with various green plant material and perennial color integrated to be agribrarian, and beautiful in our environment. Aesthetically beautiful and ecologically balanced. In the end, the space Magee Design produced, emerged as a breathtaking outdoor oasis. The clients were delighted with not only the beauty but that the beauty and quality of the work revised the functional space outdoors, and it even added value to their property.
