Situated in the community of North Dallas, the exemplifies our commitment to quality and innovative design while also serving the surrounding neighborhoods, including Highland Park, University Park, and Preston Hollow. The began with an intensive evaluation of the site's unique topography and existing plants, allowing us to articulate a bespoke landscape plan that resonates with the context. Our team successfully incorporated various native Texas plants that would create a sustainable landscape while supporting biodiversity. One of the main attractions was the stunning xeriscape garden that used minimal water and included vibrant perennial blooms that added visual interest to the landscape throughout the year. Designing garden beds for a sloped lot can present a challenge, but we decided to create a series of terraced forms with natural retaining walls built from local stone. The programmatic features provide structural integrity while also offering a new layer of visual intrigue. Additionally, the meandering pathway made of decomposed granite added to the experience, offering a functional and aesthetic form that gently guided visitors throughout lush plantings and seating principles. We also added a simple water feature that acted as a central focal point or visual respite. The water feature design allows local wildlife to visit while providing a beautiful, soothing auditory experience. Finally, we integrated outdoor lighting that not only illuminated selected landscape elements but also extended the outdoor usage well into the evening. In the end, we delivered an impressive landscape that achieved, and in some instances exceeded, our client's vision. The harmonious combination of function, beauty, and sustainability has pleased the homeowners and subsequently transformed their outdoor space into a sanctuary.
