Summary: The Landscape Additions at University Park Southern Land Design, an exceptional design/build firm, finished the 'University Park - Landscape Additions' to enhance the area’s natural beauty and purpose for this lively community. Located in the heart of University Park, our team realized the landscape through fine planning and detailing which fulfilled the area’s needs. The included the installation of lush native plant beds that were visually compatible with the local ecology and provided diversity. Drought-resistant perennials and ornamental grasses were carefully selected which ensured color and texture during all four seasons while preserving water. Custom stone pathways created with locally sourced limestone gave the landscape access and beauty while allowing residents and visitors to move through the inviting garden. Among the challenges to overcome in this were the slopes that provided erosion issues and usability among the developed landscape. Our thoughtful and talented team prepared and completed a drainage solution to carefully move stormwater runoff away from the lush planting to ensure plant survival and keep the as specified. The end product of the University Park included beauty and purpose. Socially, there are always expanses of lawn for communities to gather, seating areas tucked away to enjoy the colorful blooms, and lighting in the right areas to draw the eye and distinguish relaxation with socialization. The client shared their delight in the outcome and great appreciation for the detailing and material quality. By improving the outdoor experience in the University Park area, Southern Land Design did not only upgrade the aesthetic of the area, but it contributed a sustainable landscape experience for generations to come.
