Old Town Driveway + Patio Renovation Iris Design Associates is pleased to introduce the remarkable makeover of the Old Town Driveway and Patio, which embodies our belief in quality landscaping and exceptional design. This renovation offers an exterior space that integrates performance and beauty located in the heart of Warrenton. The included a total redesign of the previous drive and patio, which were dated and lacked visual interest. We selected durable, high-quality pavers in a warm, earth tone palette to create a feeling of welcome for residents and visitors, and ensure longevity. The new design incorporates custom patterns into the driveway which relate to the existing historic architecture of the home, creating a smooth and seamless transition from the street to the main entrance. One of the difficulties we faced was the slope of the terrain surrounding the house. Our design team graded the area with care to ensure proper drainage, with no backyard or side yard flooding which leads to erosion. This ensured that both forms (the patio and driveway) added that work of aesthetic appeal and functional use. The patio was designed as an extension of the house and integrated a custom firepit with comfortable seating. We identified native plantings and lighting to create an outdoor space to entertain or relax in. The use of stone and greenscape incorporated in the patio related the surrounds back to nature and created a relaxing space outdoors. The final outcome exceeded the expectations of our clients. They now have a wonderfully renovated space that maximizes their outdoor experience.
