About This Project

Southside Place by L3 Designs L3 Designs, located in the lively community of Southside Place, completed a landscaping that transformed outdoor living for our clients. It was our goal to create a peaceful yet functional space to complement the existing architecture and enhance the curb appeal of the property. The team carefully developed a layered landscape that features native plants that are appropriate for the local climate and also support pollinators that increase resources. We were able to create classy stone pathways from locally-sourced flagstone that provide natural circulation through the garden while combating the extremes of Houston climate. A custom water feature was designed to be a beautiful focal point and to create a soothing refuge; we added soft lighting to make the garden space usable after dark. Working with the existing topography was one of the biggest obstacles of this . We used advanced grading methods to control drainage. For example, we ensured that heavy rain wouldn’t distort the integrity of the landscape. The crew also addressed poor soil conditions by amending the soil with compost to encourage healthy plant growth. The end result is a beautiful and functional landscape. Clients were thrilled to see the colorful seasonal textures, as well as the outdoor living space for family gatherings or rest.
