About This Project

Afton Village by L3 Designs Located in Houston, the latest landscaping of L3 Designs demonstrates the company's emphasis on craftsmanship and creativity. This included 12,000 square feet of space, changing an area into a tranquil retreat in an urban environment. The working landscape included a variety of native plants with plenty of Texas wildflowers as well as many drought-tolerant shrubs, encouraging sustainability and promoting biodiversity in a local ecosystem. There are many elegantly designed stone paths using flagstone harvested miles from the site which provide connectivity to the outdoor decorations and entertainments. Water conservation is also a big part of every landscaping (as it should be) and L3 Designs provides meticulously designed irrigation systems to accommodate for growing instability of weather in Houston. One of the biggest challenges was changing the character of the site from an uneven shape to a more balance defined area. L3 Designs' crew used techniques to change shape of the land which included spectacularly raised garden beds full of food sustenance. This allows the homeowner to use for food and presents a unique breathtaking form of nature with our garden. The last part of the when the fire pit was installed was spectacular (the owners loved it). The fire pit was custom built (with a unique shape) and surrounded by natural boulders and seating. It was perfect for a friends and family gathering. The ambient light was soft, welcoming comfort to the oasis, suitable for year-round use! Once completed, the owners shared their excitement with attention to detail and that it all blended with the architecture and landscape. Afton Village is a successful reflecting L3 Designs' devotion to crafting outstanding landscaping which conveys beauty and also serves the needs of each client.
