About This Project

Resort - Waikiki, Hawaii by Horn & Co. (Formerly JHLA) Horn & Co. is excited to present a beautiful landscaping completed in a top resort in Waikiki, Hawaii. This was developed over a large 5-acre area, where native Hawaiian plants with high-end design features were assembled to create a beautiful tropical refuge. This included unique indigenous plant selections such as coconut palms, hibiscus, plumeria, and bird of paradise. Indigenous plants not only accentuate the beauty of the landscape, but also exhibit sustainability. The highest quality materials were selected to integrate into the environment with the design; natural stone for pathways and sustainably harvested hardwood for decking materials. The primary hurdle that was faced was the site's unique relief profile and soil conditions that were required remediation to facilitate drainage under periods of torrential rain. Our team proposed a state-of-theart irrigation system that would efficiently water the extensive gardens while conserving resources. The end result was even more beautiful than imagined; clients, guests and stakeholders were "blown away." Beautiful garden circulation was created with serene water features and lounge areas that immersed visitors back to the natural Hawaiian landscape. The client was very pleased with our ability to combine form and function that reinforced the properties reputation as a premier location of indulgence in relaxing environment.
