Master Plan on a Coastal Bluff The Coastal Landscape is thrilled to present the 'Master Plan on a Coastal Bluff,' a transformative landscaping in the beautiful area of Bremen. Set on stunning bluffs overlooking the ocean, this aimed to produce a cohesive coexistence of natural beauty and functional outdoor living space. The landscape was intentionally designed to embrace the coastal environment while remaining sustainable and resilient to the elements. Importantly, we included native plant gardens that would be both beneficial to the local ecosystem and able to adapt within the salty air and sandy soils. Durable materials were included in the landscape; stone pathways that would withstand the coastal elements and custom-image wooden decks that would harmonize the outdoor spaces with the significantly attractive views of the waterscape. A chief challenge we faced was soil erosion, a common problem on coastal bluffs. To address this complication, we designed a smart drainage system and introduced boulders in strategic areas to stabilize the landscape while protecting the flowing water. Our artisans created beautiful and beneficial support walls with locally sourced stone that would complement the natural landscape. In the end, the result was an exceptional coastal retreat with paths for engaging movement, gardens for vibrant colors, and areas for gathering to enjoy relaxation and the beauty of the landscape surrounding the bluff. Our client was ecstatic the transformation that occurred, noting the meticulous attention to detail and the fabricated landscape with the adjacent site of natural beauty of the bluff. This exemplified the commitment of The Coastal Landscape to attention to fine craftsmanship, creative design, and the utmost respect for the environment.
