Vanishing Edge Pool in the Backyard by Iris Design Associates Iris Design Associates recently finished work on the ‘Vanishing Edge Pool’ in Bealeton. In the tranquil landscapes of the surrounding area, this integrates luxury with nature perfectly. The pool takes full advantage of the surrounding views by having a vanishing edge that gives the appearance of water disappearing to the horizon. The matter when it comes to luxury pools, and we selected premium materials that enhance the overall aesthetic, including natural stone coping and custom glass tile mosaic blending into the landscape. We opted for low ground cover plants that would visually frame the edges of the pool and provide a low maintenance oasis in the backyard. The elevation change in the backyard was our biggest challenge. Our landscape architects mitigated the elevation change with the design of a series of retaining walls and terracing, managing the water runoff while also developing a striking multi-level effect for the vanishing edge pool. On top of that, the involved the clear engineering of the pool structure and supports to ensure stability and safety a feat our team accomplished. The final outcome was an impressive backyard retreat that surpassed the homeowners' wishes. The pool is accompanied by a large deck patio area made of durable, weather-resistant decking to facilitate entertaining or daytime lounging. The soothing sounds of the water cascading over the edge provide another dimension to the experience of the new pool, creating a peaceful place to unwind and let go in the new outdoor sanctuary. Everything was completed in tandem with the homeowners beforehand, but every detail was matched to their contemporary vision for both luxury and low maintenance. In the end, the Vanishing Edge Pool is the focal point of their backyard a combination of both elegant luxury, and a functional outdoor space that the clients will be proud of for many years to come.
