Rooftop Sculpture Garden by Daryl Toby AguaFina Gardens International A blend of outdoor beauty and practicality, the 'Rooftop Sculpture Garden' , designed by Daryl Toby, AguaFina Gardens International, turns form and function on its head in the Auburn Hills and other regions faced with a barrage of development across the countryside. This unique whereby the old empty rooftop was turned into serenity under the sky as Art and Nature became the perfect habitat on top of the concrete jungle. A well-balanced combination of native vegetation is featured throughout the design providing ornamental grasses and flowering perennials that are hardy and require very little care. Natural pathways made from sustainable materials, like reclaimed timber and eco-friendly pavers, encourage meandering while also providing elements that last. Abstract sculpture as the centerpiece of the garden, purposefully placed to complement the flora and serve as a point of focus for those being drawn in. AguaFina was able to overcome common rooftop challenges such as weight and drainage issues throughout the . We designed a lightweight planting system that had just enough soil depth for healthy growth but maximized drainage, allowing the abundant foliage of the garden to survive for so long. We also introduced a sophisticated irrigation system which uses water efficiently while keeping the plants healthy. It all culminates in a stunning rooftop oasis that not only beautifies the building but also implements a place to step back and reflect. Our client was thrilled with the result and reported that the garden has become a popular destination for staff and guests.
