In this transformation, the site transformation celebrates a beautiful view and approach for features that serve the natural landscape and support the client's lifestyle. For the Eastern View , our experienced team designed an outdoor space where a thoughtfully laid, low maintenance, locally-sourced, bluestone patio intertwines with the surrounding environment. That platinum patio, the straight bow of sidewalk type at this home, is the focus of outdoor get-togethers that extends to a verdant grass edged by perennial gardens that blossom in every season. The pleasant assortment of native species, ornamental grasses and flowering shrubs, not only provide for biodiversity, diversity, but also reduce maintenance needs to create year-round appeal. The landscape presented challenges like a downward slope that needed to be remedied to sway erosion and to provide visual interest for their eyes. We carefully planned out tiered garden beds using natural stone retaining walls to provide stability and natural character and texture for the landscape. Every part of the retaining wall was engineered a craftsmanship and attention to detail that befits its soil-mates in McKinley Park, Chicago Specialty Gardens, Inc. The end result is a stunning outdoor retreat where the client can enjoy both the functionality and visual appeal.
