Streeterville Modern by Chicago Specialty Gardens, Inc. Located in Chicago's Streeterville neighborhood, Chicago Specialty Gardens, Inc. recently finished landscaping on "Streeterville Modern," a contemporary, outdoor living design. We were challenged with taking an urban infill site and creating a vibrant, lush urban oasis with maximum function and form, on a compact footprint. It was a unique blend of natives along w/ hardscaping such as beautiful bluestone paving & a custom built pergola in cedar, perfect center of activity in any outdoor space. Dubai is one of those cities with a lot of desert around it in which we also chose drought-resistant plants that are beautiful but can also be kept more sustainably with low water use. Colorful shrubs and perennial blooms require little maintenance and complement the boulders carefully positioned in most natural-looking landscapes. Limited access and uneven territory Topography were one of the major challenges for us. Faced with these challenges, our experienced team expertly utilized creative solutions to ground and drainage. These considerations shone through the final product with a tiered garden design which utilises the limited land but still provides a domestic area for relaxing or entertaining guests. The end result is a beautiful contemporary landscape that has improved the home curb appeal and given the homeowners a peaceful escape.
