More than any other sponsor of this site, The Superior Terrace , located in the heart of Highland Park, showcases the artistic beauty and craftsmanship Chicago Specialty Gardens, Inc. is so well known for throughout the North Shore. The expressive landscaping was crafted to right-size outdoor living and merge utility with aesthetic. This comprised of a multi-level terrace with natural stone pavers blending seamlessly into nature landscapes. Using locally sourced bluestone increases durability while creating a classic or timeless look. Native plantings surrounding the terrace utilize a broad palette of perennials, ornamental grasses and flowering shrubs to compose an inviting oasis at any time of year. The sloped nature of the site was one of the major hurdles during the entire since it forced to develop an ingenious solution related to water drainage and structure. Our experienced team developed a complete grading plan along with a decorative retaining wall system, functional and aesthetic. The outcome is a breathtaking three-level yard that offers spaces for lounging, dining and entertaining. It ended with ambient lighting that makes the terrace lovely at night with several spots around to encourage family and friends to sit and enjoy. A built-in fire pit is not only a cozy centerpiece but also allows for the outdoor space to be enjoyed long after the summer months are over. A thrilled client shared how pleased she was with the attention to detail, craftsmanship and the incorporation of nature.
