Urban Lanai by Chicago Specialty Gardens, Inc. Situated in the heart of Chicago, the ‘Urban Lanai’ by Chicago Specialty Gardens is a reflection of the art of Chicago Specialty Gardens, Inc. Such redefines outdoor living in the city by combining the most serene views of nature and cutting-edge solutions of modernity. The outdoor space of the Lanai reaches more than 1,500 sq. feet and represents a range of native plants, hundreds of ornamental grasses, and additional seasonal flowers. From the technical view, the charge was high: providing effective drainage and appealing design for limited space. However, it did not represent an obstacle for the team that perfectly combined raised beds of planters and permeable pavers and delivered a solution that was environmentally friendly, sustainable, and organized water management. Along with the custom-made organic system, the garden required materials to fit tight space and bring something old, something new; hence, the team used reclaimed wood and got multifunctional furniture and bedding. The firepit in the middle of the lawn and a tremendous space of swallowed daylight intermingling with LED lights at night deliver approaches of both function and style so that the people would delight the time they spend while being alone.
