BY: Chicago Specialty Gardens, Inc. presents the 'Roscoe Village Rooftop', a changing outdoor environment in the middle of a modern society scene. This is a great example of our talent for quality, creativity, and customer satisfaction in providing our services through the exciting neighborhoods of Chicago and nearby areas such as Evanston, Glenview, and Highland Park. The green roof design showcases a beautiful mixture of greenery and practical outdoor spaces, specifically, a quiet seating area surrounded by different types of meticulously selected greenery. Staging an urban oasis with drought-resistant perennials, ornamental grasses and clear flowering shrubs to withstand the vibrancy of the cities climate. The materials were selected not only because of their aesthetic appeal but also for their durability so that the rooftop would look awesome for years to come. The main challenge with this was using the existing rooftop structural limit. This was a concern that we had to overcome by working very closely with the structural engineers to make sure that all elements of the landscaping were safe and sustainable. We developed a lightweight soil regime with state of the art drainage that conserved all the functionality of the building while also allowing plant growth to thrive. The end product is a gorgeous escape that offers a slice of serenity in the midst of urban chaos. The client was really happy the end result and appreciated all the minor that went into being a part of nature as part of their everyday life! Ideal for urban living, the 'Roscoe Village Rooftop' features the expertise of Chicago Specialty Gardens, Inc. with comfortable furniture, a mixed plant palette, and walkable surface. Not only does this significantly improve the visual appearance of a property possessing it, it also makes way for biodiversity in the city centre, benefitting environmental sustainability.
